Divano Anfiteatro is shaped as a broad upholstered enclosure, with the back and arms rising in a continuous curve around two deep seating zones. The geometry recalls a small amphitheatre: open at the front, protective at the sides and gently focused toward the centre. Loose lumbar cushions add a relaxed layer within the more architectural outer shell. The result is intimate despite the sofa’s scale, creating a clear place for conversation and retreat within an open living space.
Width: 112.2 in (285 cm)
Depth: 41.3 in (105 cm)
Height: 31.5 in (80 cm)
Primary frame in kiln-dried solid beech with CNC-cut and laminated 15–18 mm birch-plywood ribs forming the continuous curved back and arms. The two seat bays are separately supported on cross-laced 70–80 mm elastic webbing to prevent long-span sagging. Seat construction uses 42–45 kg/m³ HR foam cores, 32–35 kg/m³ comfort layers and a soft fibre or feather/fibre wrap. The outer shell uses 28–35 kg/m³ shaped foam with denser reinforcement along the upper edge to preserve the sweeping curve. Loose lumbar cushions are built around soft HR foam or feather/fibre inserts in baffled ticking. Upholstery is pattern-cut to follow the radial geometry with carefully controlled seam placement and minimal interruption across the broad shell. A recessed structural plinth supports the sofa and allows the upholstered form to sit close to the floor.
