Pisaea is a generously proportioned lounge chair defined by the tension between a disciplined outer frame and deeply cushioned upholstery. A broad channelled seat sits within rectilinear arms, while the segmented three-part back and loose lumbar cushion create a softer, more relaxed inner composition. At 38 inches deep with a 24-inch seat depth, the chair is designed for an extended lounge posture rather than upright occasional seating. Repeated vertical channels give the substantial upholstery visual order, while the framed silhouette keeps the chair architectural and controlled.

Frame: kiln-dried beech primary load-bearing structure with furniture-grade 13-ply Baltic/Finnish birch plywood, typically 15–18 mm, used for shaped arm, back and upholstered structural panels. Primary timber joints use glued mortise-and-tenon, dowelled or loose-tenon construction with reinforced hardwood corner blocks.
Seat suspension: premium 60–80 mm woven elastic webbing with high natural-rubber content, cross-laced longitudinally and transversely, individually tensioned and mechanically secured to the frame for resilient, controlled support.
Seat cushioning: multi-density high-resilience open-cell polyurethane construction with a 42–50 kg/m³ load-bearing core and 32–38 kg/m³ comfort layer. Higher-density perimeter reinforcement is used where required to maintain the definition of the channelled seat and exposed cushion edges.
Back and lumbar cushions: segmented back cushions combine supportive HR foam inserts with softer comfort layers; the loose lumbar cushion uses a resilient foam core with a feather/down or feather/fiber envelope for a more relaxed surface feel. The collection standard specifies baffled construction for loose cushion fills to control migration and maintain shape.
Upholstery: premium wool, wool-bouclé, linen blend, mohair, velvet or performance textile, with leather available in full-grain or premium top-grain bovine hide. Fixed upholstered surfaces incorporate approximately 200–350 g/m² batting beneath the outer cover to soften transitions while retaining the chair’s rectilinear geometry.
Base and floor interface: concealed structural support preserves the low-profile silhouette. Replaceable nylon, HDPE or felt glides protect the floor surface.
