Sedia Cigno transforms the familiar outline of a bird into a playful sculptural seat. The rounded body forms the sitting surface, while the elongated neck rises into a softened head that becomes the back support. Small integrated feet keep the piece low and animated, giving it character from every viewpoint. Despite its figurative form, the monochrome upholstery keeps the object visually coherent and allows it to sit within a sophisticated interior as an unexpected accent rather than a novelty piece.

Load-bearing internal armature in welded structural steel, shaped to carry the seat, neck and head as one continuous engineered frame. A birch-plywood seat plate is mechanically fixed to the armature to distribute user loads and anchor the upholstery layers. The sculptural body is built in moulded high-resilience polyurethane foam, using approximately 40–45 kg/m³ at the seat and 30–35 kg/m³ through the neck, head and decorative volumes, with higher-density inserts at narrow transitions. The complete form is wrapped in 200–300 g/m² batting before upholstery. A stretch-capable wool bouclé or dense performance textile is pattern-cut into concealed seam zones so the silhouette remains continuous. The integral feet contain steel load paths and replaceable high-density polymer or felt pads. All structural welds and internal joints remain inaccessible in normal use and are isolated from the upholstery by protective sleeves.
